Quepos, Concierge Collection: Sport Fishing - Blue Fin II
For those who love to fish, Quepos is an excellent option.  Unlike Northern Costa Rica, Quepos is protected from the winter winds and is considered one of the top fishing destinations in the world. After approximately 45 minutes of sailing to the southwest (20-25 miles off shore) your boat will arrive at the deep sea area known for catching sailfish, marlin, tuna, and mahi-mahi.  For the best and easiest fishing the bait that will be used is either moli or balihu. Blue Fin II is a 28-foot custom sportfisher, with a 315 HP inboard Cummins engine, tower with full controls, IGFA Tackle, Penn International Reels, LEE Fighting Chair, cabin with a bed, and a marine toilet, manned by a captain and first mate with many years of experience in fly fishing, and catch & release.

Please note:  The price for this tour is per boat. This tour requires lots of activity and arm strength and is only recommended for those in good physical condition. Wear fishing attire, a hat, and sunscreen.  Fishing licenses are included and arranged on board and upon arrival. The retail price is per vessel for up to a maximum of five guests on a chartered vessel and not per guest. It may be possible to charter for a larger group on board. Fishing is catch and release. Quepos: Highlights & Wildlife Rescue Center
This tour will start when you board a coaster bus for a ride through downtown Quepos. Along the way your local guide will explain the history and culture of Costa Rica and show you the area built-up by the United Fruit Company within the “American Zone”. Your various stops in town include the Quepos Church, the local Fish Market and an African Palm Plantation, where you will learn about the importance of this plant in the Quepos area. Your next stop will be Kids Saving the Rainforest Wildlife Sanctuary, an institution that was founded in 1999 for the purpose of educating people around the world about the ecological importance of the rainforest and to set-up programs to preserve the rainforest and its wildlife. Your visit will include a guided walk through the Wildlife Sanctuary where you will learn about the rescued animal program and see a few of the rescued animals. Quepos: Mangrove Wildlife & Boat Cruise
A boat ride through the mangroves is like visiting another world.  The species of trees that grow in the mixed waters of the ocean and the river make a unique and very fragile ecosystem.  Most of these trees grow along the estuary, developing an aerial root system. As the tide goes down the roots become suspended in the air creating a perfect home for crabs and caimans. In the upper part of the forest you will see monkeys and a great variety of birds including herons, egrets, and spoonbills. The launch will take you to a private property for refreshments as your naturalist tour guide gives you more information about this amazing ecosystem. Your shaded boat will then take you deep into the mangroves, where you will try to spot all the incredible wildlife making their home there.  After a 2- hour boat ride you will arrive at the village where transportation will be waiting to drive you back to the ship.  An optional drop off in Quepos is also available, where you will find several restaurants and shops.

Quepos: Manuel Antonio National Park Nature Walk
Manuel Antonio National Park is the jewel of Costa Rica's large number of national parks. Its fragile rainforest ecosystem shelters a variety of wildlife including mammals and tropical birds. The dense rainforest opens into small trails where your naturalist tour guide will acquaint you with all the information regarding the transitional forest.  Another great attraction is the white-sand beach that meets the jungle. The park protects 683 hectares of tropical rainforest and over 1,000 different species of flora.  This walk is by far one of the best in the Central Pacific, and a great opportunity to get closer to the forest. The trail followed will be a moderate walk with paths made out of gravel, dirt, and sand. There are also exposed roots that you need to manage. After a 20-minute drive your 1.5-hour guided walk will lead you to the beach where you will have time for sunbathing or swimming. At the end of this walk your naturalist tour guide will prepare a tropical fruit buffet to regain your energy and then you will head back to Quepos where an optional drop off in the town of Quepos will be available.

Please note:  The walking is moderate with some uphill climbs.  It is recommended to wear light clothing, good walking shoes/hiking boots, a hat, sunscreen,  water, and insect repellent.  Wear a bathing suit under your clothes and bring a towel if you want to sunbathe at the beach.  Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Remain hydrated as the temperature is usually humid and hot. Manuel Antonio Park is considered one of most visited National Parks in Costa Rica.  Please expect congestion in the park and long lines at the park’s only entrance. Quepos: Rainforest Horseback, Cascades & BBQ
This is an excursion for adrenaline lovers. You will be picked up at La Marina and go to the property where you will start your horseback riding tour. During the 30-minute drive to Londres - where the tour starts - your guide will give you an interesting briefing about the history of Quepos. Once you reach Londres you will set foot on a picturesque property that has bathrooms, stables, a corral and an open air waiting area. You will receive riding instructions, safety tips and practice time, before heading out to explore the rainforest. This tour will allow you to uncover the exotic secrets that lie within this secondary rainforest. The maximum altitude of this area is 1,900 feet. You will ride through the mountains without reaching the mountain top. Your horse ride lasts about 2.5 hours (round trip) and it will be highlighted by amazing valley views, verdant vegetation and numerous wildlife species such as birds and reptiles. At the end of the trail there is a beautiful waterfall where you will be able to rest for about 30 minutes. You can lie on the grass or take a swim or both! After the break, you will return by the same trail. Back to the stables; enjoy a refreshing beer and Costa Rican-style BBQ, just as a real cowboy would do!

Quepos: Savegre River Floating Class I & II
You will depart from Quepos on a 1-1/2 hour transfer by air-conditioned motor coach to the rural town of El Silencio passing by palm, teak, and melina plantations. After a short stop where you can often spot toucans and macaws, you will continue toward the town of Santo Domingo, where a group of qualified bilingual guides are waiting for you to start this 2-hour class I & II amazing river float. Quepos: Surf Lessons on Manuel Antonio Beach

Quepos: Titi Canopy Tour

Bahia Drake, Corcovado Canopy Zip Line Tour
Costa Rica is one of the few countries in the world, which still enjoys the lushness of a primary rainforest.  It has earned well-deserved international acclaim for having conservationist groups who have come up with innovative preservation of these rainforests, allowing Costa Rica to be one of the few places that offers a Canopy Tour.  Do you dare to get involved in some real "monkey business" and finally find out the true meaning of the expression "hang around?"   You will board your tender for a short ride to Aguila de Osa Hotel where your you will meet your guide and travel by car approximately 20 minutes to the Operations Center.  On the Canopy Tour there are 13 platforms (up to 98 feet high) and 11 steel-cables (ranging from 623 to 1,312 feet in length) to traverse from treetop to treetop through the rainforest. The canopy tour takes approximately 2.5 hours once guests are fully equipped.

Los Planes is the newest Corcovado National Park Ranger Station located 30 minutes from the village of Bahia Drake by land transfer. The English speaking naturalist guide will lead a 2 ¼ -hour hike through primary and secondary forest, locating and explaining the extensive rainforest wildlife and flora and interpreting for you the different ecological relationships between the species, such as symbiotic relations. The rich biological diversity of the Corcovado National Park is amazing, and you will be looking for 4 types of monkeys, as well as coatis, sloths, anteaters, and much more. Bird lovers will be enchanted by a wide variety of birds, including tanagers, flycatchers, kingfishers, manakins, trogons, crested guans, and spectacular scarlet macaws and toucans. Bahia Drake, Snorkel To Cano Island Biological Reserve
Cano Island is located 12 nautical miles from Bahia Drake. You will board a boat for the 45-minute ride to this ideal spot for snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing.  Along the way, watch for sightings of dolphins and marine birds. You will receive safety instructions before your first snorkel around the island. Aquatic life is spectacular here and you will find a broad and colorful spectrum of Pacific Coast reef fish – triggerfish, trumpetfish, damselfish, parrotfish, angel fish, puffers, to name a few, as well as rays and sea turtles.  You will have a 15-minute rest on the boat before your second snorkel around the island.  Then your boat will take you to Caletas for snacks and use of facilities. Bahia Herradura, 4WD From Rivers to the Oceans
Are you ready to whip mud and get splashed? Board your Honda (buggy type) mule and ride through the forest on an adventure you will not forget!  You will depart from the pier in an air-conditioned minibus for the short drive to Punta Leona. You may want to use the restrooms or browse around the shops. The mules will be there waiting for you.  First your guide will instruct you on safety information followed by an easy test drive and for the next hour you will cross several rivers and creeks, whip mud, drive on sand banks and appreciate the sites of some of Costa Rica's wildlife until you arrive to Playa Agujas. You will wind down with the river rainforest trails as you descend toward an isolated beach called Bochinche where you will enjoy a refreshing snack, drinks and time at leisure with lush forest and ocean vistas. Return to Punta Leona and then board the minibus for your ride back to the pier and change the driving of the mules with your fellow partners.. On the way you will make a quick stop at Tarcoles River where you will have the opportunity to observe and photograph large crocodile colonies.

Bahia Herradura, Andalusian Horse Show & Countryside

This show combines the magnificent Andalusian horses with masterful riders. Learn about the equestrian world from a local English-speaking expert with vast knowledge in this field. You will board your comfortable air conditioned motor coach for the 75-minute ride to Rancho San Miguel, passing a variety of landscapes including mango and watermelon farmlands, lush forests and mountain views to the highlands of Alajuela Province where the hacienda is located. Rancho San Miguel is a school of high equestrian arts they have been exhibiting at horse fiestas for over 30 years.It is now famous throughout the Americas for their pure breed of Andalusian horses. Bahia Herradura, Carara National Park & Pura Vida Gardens
Departing from Herradura, you will have a 15-minute drive to Carara National Park, which covers a low mountainous area that is relatively clear of undergrowth making it easy to observe the abundant wildlife. Because of its particular location, the park has one of the largest remaining wild populations of Scarlet Macaws.  Also, the Rio Grande de Tarcoles crosses the park and is home to a great variety of animals and birds catching the attention of many birdwatchers, who consider Carara one of the best spots to watch tropical birds in the country. You will have about a 90-minute walk in this area of exceptional beauty before the short drive to Pura Vida Gardens, one of the most spectacular private gardens in Costa Rica. Bahia Herradura, Eco Jungle Cruise & Crocodile Safari
This adventure takes place along the estuary of Guacalillo and the Tarcoles River, near Carara National Park. You will board your jungle cruise boat for your tour up the estuary noted for its mangrove forests. In fact, four different species of mangroves are found in this area: tea, black, red and white mangrove. The mangroves are a group of unrelated woody plants that grow in protected tropical coasts. Your tour will start a short 15-minute drive. This is perhaps one of the best ways to discover the wonders of the rainforest. You will be equipped with a medium-sized Criollo horse and riding gear and then depart on your journey to the waterfalls. Along the way you will see farms, and get a closer look at nature, as you start ascending through the rainforest.
