Woody Point, located on the southern side of Gros Morne National Park, offers convenient access to the park’s Discovery Centre, just a 10-minute drive away. This primary interpretation center showcases exhibits detailing the region’s rich geological history. Another short drive brings you to the iconic Tablelands, the unique landform responsible for Gros Morne’s UNESCO World Heritage designation. During a guided walk along the Tablelands Trail, explore its striking landscape and the distinctive plant life that thrives in this harsh environment. Enjoy breathtaking views of Gros Morne Mountain, the park’s namesake, while a Parks Canada interpreter provides insights into the area's fascinating geology. Due to limited transportation availability in the region, school buses are typically used to shuttle guests between stops. This port call requires a tender or Zodiac landing at the community dock, with port fees to be coordinated between the Harbour Master and the Ship’s Agent. Following the morning excursion, guests will return to the pier in Woody Point and reboard the ship for lunch as it repositions to Norris Point on the north side of the park. Meanwhile, guides and buses will relocate to Norris Point, ready to welcome guests for the afternoon excursion.
Please note: Guests are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes. This port call will require a tender/Zodiac landing at the community dock. There is a port fee that the Harbour Master will want to discuss with the Ship’s Agent. Because of the limited supply of buses in the region (and short distances) passengers shuttle between the various stops using school buses.
