Experience a moderate nature trail hike along the slopes of Nevis’ slumbering volcano that rises 3,232 feet into the sky. The tropical rainforest along this path encompass Mountravers Estate. Mountravers Estate was once a sugar plantation in the 18th century and was converted to a boutique hotel in the 19th century. It was owned in 1708 by Azariah Pinney (after whom Pinneys Beach is named) and by the successive generations of the Pinney family until it was sold in 1815. You may be lucky to see wild green monkeys as you also listen for tree frogs and bamboo palms blowing in the wind as you hike with your knowledgeable tour guide through the expanses of the once great estate. The trail also offers stunning views of Nevis' west coast and neighboring islands, perfect for an explorer’s photo. Your final stop will be on Pinney’s Beach for a delicious lunch. This 2-hour fun adventure will introduce you to Dominica’s premier snorkel site, Champagne Reef, a local marine eco-system dotted with champagne bubbles, colorful fish, and an assortment of coral and sponge life. Your experience will begin with a transfer to Champagne Beach.  From the beach you will begin your snorkeling tour – much like swimming in a glass of champagne and through a stream of bubbles that rises from a submerged volcanic vent in the sea floor.  See juvenile and adult fish as well as colorful sponge and coral growths. From Anse Mitan you will have a short drive to the Pagerie Habitation where Empress Josephine lived the first 16 years of her life with her family in the 18th century before becoming the Empress of France. A guided visit will give you the opportunity to know a lot about her history in this mythical place. Then re-board your motor coach for the 40-minute drive to Plantation House. You will pass the village of Trois Ilets and continue sightseeing along the lovely inland roads to the City of Le Francois.  You will visit an exceptionally well- maintained major Plantation House where the President of France and the President of the United States (Bush and Mitterand) met in 1991. There will be a short 10-minute walk from the pier to the marina where your boat awaits. All aboard a semi-submersible to discover the rich undersea life surrounding St. Barts, without even getting wet! After boarding, you may choose to either stay outside on the open deck or enter the tunnel-like hull equipped with underwater windows. At the harbor’s entrance, keep watch for the many green turtles that frequent this area. Soon, the semi-sub passes over the wreck of the island freighter Marignan. Cross the southeastern edge of the St. Barts Marine Park and arrays of undersea marvels will soon be revealed before your eyes. The seabed is full of colorful coral reefs, and schools of Sergeant Major Fish. On your arrival at The Saints, the onboard crew will feed schools of fish. Marigot is best known for its seaside, open-air market, where you can find truly charming souvenirs of your Caribbean vacation. If you are “shopped out”, try one of the French cafés right next door, for a café au lait with a croissant.  Upon leaving Marigot, you will make one more photo stop on Cay Hill, from where you have a wonderful view over Simpson Bay Lagoon.  Our last stop will be Philipsburg, capital of the Dutch side, best known for its jewelry-, electronics-, and high end clothing stores. On the Boardwalk you will find quaint restaurants for a quick bite to eat before your flight and an excellent photo opportunity of your yacht lying in Philipsburg Harbor. From there, you will be taken straight to your Windstar Hotel

Experience the thrill of racing multi-million dollar America’s Cup Race sailboats in the warm blue waters and brisk trade winds of St. Maarten. Previous sailing experience is not necessary for this excursion, which is one of the highest rated in the Caribbean. You will depart directly from your yacht in Marigot to Philipsburg, where after a briefing you will take a 10-minute tender ride out to your allocated sailboat. Either Dennis Conner’s America’s Cup winning Stars & Stripes, Canada II, or True North are yours for this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The expert crew will show you exactly what to do if you want to take a “crew member’s” position. Then it’s off to the racecourse – grind a winch – trim a sail – punch a stopwatch, or just sit back, relax and enjoy the included refreshments.  After the race enjoy a victory rum punch party and browse through the museum souvenir boutique before your transfer to your Windstar hotel.
