The Drottningholm Palace is a French-style palace built in the late 17th century and described as the Versailles of Sweden. The palace is now the residence of the Swedish Royal family. The Court Theatre is one of the world’s most famous theatrical establishments and one of Europe’s best-preserved 18th century theatres, with 200-year old stage machinery. A unique attraction and still used in performances. Drottningholm is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Step aboard a boat from the turn of the last century and enjoy the trip to the pearl of Mälaren through beautiful natural scenery to Drottningholm Palace. You will begin with a guided tour of the palace with magnificent rooms from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries and a beautiful Baroque park with statues, fountains, a large variety of trees, and pretty lawns. Visit the shop and the small Theatre Museum to look at the collections of pictures and costumes tracing the history of stage. Continue to the Court Theatre for a guided tour through the theatre. This fully restored 18th century theatre is unique in that its original sets (30 in all), stage machinery, and props are in perfect working order and still in use. Nothing has changed since King Gustav III, the patron of the arts, attended opera performances here; except for the stage lightning-electricity which has replaced the candlelight. You will then enjoy a scenic drive by coach back to the ship.

Become acquainted with Helsinki’s imposing architecture and fascinating history before taking a brief foray out into the countryside. You will pass Helsinki’s colorful open-air market, the Presidential Palace, Uspenski Orthodox Cathedral and the icebreakers docked for the summer, the Bank of Finland and the House of Estates to pause at Senate Square to learn about the city’s history and admire the neoclassical-style buildings dating from the mid-1800s. Next, head out to the farming community of Sipoo, which although close to the city is typically representative of the Finnish countryside. On arrival you will view St. Sigfrid’s, which was built in the 1400s and is the community’s oldest church. Tallinn has one of the finest medieval Old Towns in all of Northern Europe. Explore its must-see highlights by comfortable motor coach and on foot. Aboard a coach, you will proceed to the walkway opposite the main railway station to begin your stroll through the Lower Town’s historic center. Spend your day out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Just 30 miles west from busy and fast going Riga you will find a peaceful nature sanctuary - Kemeri National Park. The Park covers the area of 38,165 hectares and is the 3rd largest national park in Latvia. This park is special for its great biological diversity, mineral waters and therapeutic mud. The park also stands out with its diverse world of wetlands: raised bogs, fens, and transitional bogs can be found here. You will walk in the largest bog of the national park – The Great Kemeri Bog, which was formed 8,000 years ago and covers an area of 5,000 hectares. Kemeri Bog is home to many bird species such as black storks, sea eagles, small eagles and corncrakes. In the wet forest of the bog you can spot the white-backed woodpecker or the grey woodpecker. The bog is home not only for birds, but also for rare plant species such as yellow cuckoo, wild fawn and Loessel’s leopard, which thrive in the bog. A guide will lead you through unmarked trails through the bogs and take you to the world of moss, small pine trees, deep pools, tiny dark lakes, and the smell of wild rosemary.

Board your bus and drive to Riga’s Central Market, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the Central Market you will meet with a Latvian Chef for a guided walk of the Market. The market includes five pavilions each with its own category – vegetables, dairy, meat, fish and gastronomy products. Here you will see not only Latvian-grown and homemade products, but also exotic fruit and spices. You will be welcomed to taste some of the local specialties. Then continue your exploration of Riga and drive to the Old Town. A walking tour through the labyrinth of cobblestone streets will reveal the flavors of Riga. There will be plenty of architectural examples to please your eye along the way and something uniquely Latvian for your palate. Visit the mysterious alchemic laboratory of Abraham Kunze, the home of Riga Black Balsam since the 18th century. The entrance to the laboratory is hidden behind a secret door. Once inside you will be surrounded by the authentic atmosphere of a medieval alchemic laboratory which will make you believe in the reality of miracles and the secret of Riga Black Balsam. You will see the pride of Riga, Dome Cathedral, famous for one of the biggest organs in Europe. Embark on a captivating journey starting at the pier, venturing northwards to Gotland, passing farmland, forests and churches. Churches on Gotland have had a huge significance on local history. There are 92 medieval churches still in service on the island, and you will have the opportunity to visit one of them. The coach will then proceed to Lummelunda where you visit the caves. Gotland's bedrock consists of Limestone. It originated as a coral reef south of the equator, which over the course of 400 million years has slowly moved to its current location in the middle of the Baltic Sea. Limestone provides the perfect environment for caves to form. The cave in Lummelunda is a great example of this. Over the last 20.000 years, water has seeped its way into the bedrock and eroded the chambers you can visit today. Just over 4km (2.5 miles) of the caves have been explored and mapped out. New parts of the cave are discovered every year by speleologists, cave explorers, and there’s still plenty more to be discovered. After admiring the stalactites and stalagmites it is time for lunch. After lunch, your coach will drive back to Visby for a guided walk through the old town. On your way through the old town, you will pass through charming alleyways, until you reach the Cathedral of St. Mary’s. There will also be an opportunity for a photo stop at the hill overlooking the cathedral, where you can get an aerial view of the town. After your walking tour, you will be met by your coach for a short drive back to the pier.

In one of the most beautiful places in the Plokstine Forest, in Zemaitija National Park, the Soviet Nuclear Weapons’ Site is located. It was built under great secrecy in 1960. The site became operational in 1963. There were 4 silos, which housed surface-to-surface missiles. The Nuclear Weapons Site was closed in 1979 but the site was fully restored and now all premises bring back to life the realities of the Cold War period as the site opens its grim corridors and tunnels for guided tours. Board your motor coach from the pier for the 1.5-hour drive to the site. It is possible to climb through the narrow hatch and see one of the silos. The deep mine shaft and underground tunnels are really impressive. There you will also see some of the symbols of the longstanding propaganda between the West and the Soviet Union. On the way back from this apocalyptic site, and as a complete contrast, you will see the most beautiful sites of the national park: crystal – the clear waters of the Plateliai Lake and three spectacular islands. Before heading back to Klaipeda you will have a light lunch of traditional dishes: cold beetroot soup, potato dumplings with meat, hash browns, natural yogurt, tea or coffee or a local beer in a Lithuanian café.

Arrive in Palanga and stroll through the Botanical park, founded by Count Tiskevicius more than a 100 years ago. The 19th century Neo-Renaissance-style mansion now houses the biggest Amber Museum in the Baltics. In the museum find out all about the Baltic gold: its origins, places where amber can be found, unique inclusions containing insects, even lizards and bits of extinct plants, replicas of the stone age and amber treasures. On the way back to the sea you will pass “Birute’s Hill” and the Lourdes. It is said that the beautiful priestess Birute was taken in marriage against her will by Grand Duke Kestutis. After her death she was allegedly buried on the hill, where now stands a modest sculpture. After a short beach stroll you will walk back through the park to rejoin the coach and drive back to Klaipeda.

Located around 30 miles from Gdansk, Stutthof Concentration Camp was the first camp created by the Nazis outside Germany. The first prisoners arrived here on September 2, 1939, exactly 250 Polish citizens and prisoners of war. Not long after that, only two weeks later, there were around 6,000 prisoners. Most of them were executed by the SS- the plan to annihilate the whole Polish intelligentsia of Pomerania was the main reason why the camp was established. It was also the main place in the fight of the Nazis against the Poles who refused to sign an application for joining the German nationality list.. Today, the mission of the museum is to take care of the remains of the former Stutthof camp, preserving knowledge about the period between 1939-1945 in Pomerania and memory about prisoners of Stutthof. The facility is a listed building due to its historical and architectural importance, as one of the largest closed architectural remnants of the National Socialist era. The resort project illustrates the machinery used by the regime for mass indoctrination and propaganda, as the site could host up to 20.000 guests for holiday all at once. After the war, the site was turned into a military base for the GDR during the Cold War era. On your guided tour you will learn interesting facts about life during the Nazi regime & east Germany. Your tour will continue to the town of Putbus. This town is also known as the White or Rose City and is the former royal seat of Count and Lord Wilhelm-Malte zu Putbus.
