Your adventure begins at the Beach House in Hove on Tromøya. Upon arrival, you will be provided with protective clothing and given a safety briefing, including a comprehensive tour description before heading into the water. Before starting the journey, the guide will demonstrate paddle techniques and allow time for practice. As you embark on the kayak tour, you'll traverse the stunning Raet National Park, heading southwest towards the scenic island of Gjessøya. Throughout the journey, your knowledgeable guide will share insights into the island's history and point out notable landmarks along the way. Navigating the sheltered waters of the archipelago, the route will take you past St. Helena Island and Badeholmen, culminating at the picturesque sandy bay of Gjessholmen.

Please note: It is recommended to dress in layered clothing and wear comfortable shoes that can get wet.  The weight of each participating guest must not exceed 110 kilograms. Equipment includes double kayaks, paddles, spray skirt and life jacket.  Comfort stop available at the kayak location.  Participants are required to sign a DMC waiver.

Set off from the pier for a 45-minute drive to the picturesque village of Lillesand. Discover the charm of this well-preserved village, where streets are lined with traditional Norwegian wooden houses. The vibrant atmosphere is brought to life with an array of shops, restaurants, cafes, and art galleries, making it a popular destination, especially in the summer. Continue your journey along the scenic coastal road to Grimstad, a small seafaring town nestled among a cluster of islands. Grimstad's rich maritime history dates back to 1622, evolving into a bustling port and, by 1747, becoming a favored haven for smugglers. After a brief stop for photos, proceed along the coastal road back to Arendal.

Begin your leisurely walk around Pollen, Arendal’s geographic and visual center. This charming square harbor is situated between Tyholmen in the west and Long Bryggen in the east, and is now home to numerous restaurants and cafés. Next, pass by the impressive Trinity Church (Trefoldighetskirken), a neo-Gothic, cruciform basilica with short cross arms. Constructed from brick with a copper-plated roof, it features three church bells and a carillon. Continue your stroll through the cobblestone streets of Tyholmen, the historic district of Arendal. Here, you'll find a unique collection of wooden houses that look much as they did during the region’s sailing heyday. Admire the brightly painted old homes as your guide shares fascinating stories of the past. At the Old Town Hall, learn about the Kallevig family, who, despite war and famine, managed to build one of the largest and most splendid private homes between 1812-1815. This towering wooden house was sold to the Arendal council in 1844 by Kitty Kallevig and served as the Town Hall until 2005. Finally, visit a charming local café to sample munker, a traditional pastry roasted in monk irons.

Begin your journey with a drive from the city center to the southern residential areas, passing the Royal Residence on your way to Fana and the Stave Church. The Stave Church at Fantoft, originally built in Fortun in Sogn in 1150, was relocated to Fantoft in 1883 to preserve it as part of Norway’s cultural heritage. After a devastating fire in 1992, skilled artisans faithfully restored the church to its original splendor. Inside, you’ll marvel at the traditional timber construction and intricate carvings. Next, take a short walk to the heart of the city, where you’ll visit the vibrant fish market and stroll through the narrow streets of Hanseatic Bryggen, home to 18th-century houses that were rebuilt after a fire in the early 1700s, preserving the original style from 1350. Your guide will transport you back in time, sharing the fascinating history of this ancient Hanseatic city. Admire the stunning St. Mary’s Church, dating back to 1170 and one of Norway’s finest examples of Romanesque architecture, before passing Kongens, a former army depot, and the medieval Bergenhus Fortress.

This tour showcases the stunning regions and fjords surrounding Bergen. Departing from our seaplane base in the city center, we fly along the city fjord and the northern archipelago of Bergen, into the Osterfjord, and over the mountains around Bergen. If the weather is favorable, we'll also glimpse Folgefonna Glacier, Norway's third-largest glacier, from a distance. Enjoy a bird's-eye view of Ulriken Mountain, Mt. Fløyen, and pass directly over the city center, the Fishmarket, and Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage site, before returning to the seaplane pier.

Please Note: This excursion is not recommended for guests with physical/walking disabilities or who suffer from motion sickness and/or vertigo, nor guests who have a fear of heights and enclosed spaces. Participants must be at least 6 years of age and accompanied by an adult. The flight is weather-dependent and can be altered or canceled at short notice. It is recommended to dress in layered clothing and wear comfortable shoes. Due to flight weight restrictions, guests must register their body weight and seats will be assigned according to weight in order to balance the seaplane for safety reasons.
