Windstar's complimentary Destination Discovery Event in Bora Bora starts with a catamaran ride to a private motu where Windstar’s guests are met with an extraordinary private feast on the beach. Shortly after arriving to the Motu, guests are welcome to explore the island while enjoying tropical cocktails before dinner. Afterwards, traditional Polynesian fire dancers perform under the stars to the delight of all guests and crew. Our Destination Discovery event provides an opportunity to experience Tahiti in an authentic and intimate way, making the experience completely immersive and special. Join the Mamas and the Papas, a local Tahitian band, as they play traditional music, teach you how to dance, tie a pareo, and create your own lei. Meet Tihoti, a noted tattoo master and historian, as he performs on the nose flute and talks about power of tattoos in Polynesian culture. Plus, taste locally caught fish and fruits purchased from the markets on the islands, and try authentic dishes like poisson cru and banana po'e.

Windstar has partnered with Coral Gardeners, a Mo’orea (French Polynesia)-based international collective of scientists, engineers, and advocates dedicated to saving the coral reef. The team works to build, maintain, and monitor thousands of corals with the goal of restoring the ocean one coral at a time. Windstar has donated $35,000 to the group. All guests sailing on a cruise in French Polynesia can also contribute to the cause with the option to adopt a coral for a donation of $35 per person guest.
