Say hello to Stamford Raffles’ engaging city, a modern metropolis which is blended with the traditional historic towns of the founders. These include Chinatown, Little India and the Malay community of Kampong Glam. The Singapore River meanders through the center of the island with vistas of skyscrapers and historic shop houses, often side-by-side. Singapore is a tropical garden city with flowers and greenery everywhere. Among the attractions are the domes at Gardens by the Bay located near Marina Bay and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Botanic Gardens. Orchard Road is the epicenter for shopping some of Asia’s leading retailers and includes both international brands and local shops.

Day 12: Disembark / Phuket Old Town/ Flight to Chiang Mai

Start the day with a pick-up from the port and head to Phuket Old Town. This historic area is rich in cultural heritage, with streets like Thanon Klang, Thanon Dibuk, and Soi Romanee, once home to settlers from China, India, Europe, and the Muslim world. These early settlers brought their distinct architectural styles, creating the iconic ‘Sino-European’ buildings that remain today. During the reign of King Rama IV, Phuket's tin mining industry flourished, and while the mines are now preserved as museums, the area has since transformed into a vibrant hub of accommodations, dining spaces, and souvenir shops. For lunch, consider dining at One Chan or Tu Kub Kao. At noon, transfer from Old Phuket Town to Phuket International Airport for your flight to Chiang Mai (FD3165, 15:25-17:25). Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, head to the Chiang Mai Cultural Center for a traditional Khantoke Dinner at the Old Chiangmai Cultural Center. Here, you'll experience Northern Thai culture with a delicious meal that includes 9 dishes like Hang Ley Curry, Laab Kua, Deep-fried Crispy Chicken, and Sticky Rice, all served on a traditional Khantoke tray. Day 13: Wat Phra That Doi Suthep/ Chiang Mai Old Town/ Night Bazaar

After breakfast, depart for Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, the most important temple in Chiang Mai. Built in the early 19th century, this temple is renowned for its seven-headed serpent statues that line the stairs leading to a golden pagoda and the stunning Lanna architecture. The panoramic view of Chiang Mai from the temple is breathtaking, and the site also hosts the Tiaw Khuen Doi Festival, where visitors ascend Doi Suthep Hill to worship the Buddhist relics enshrined there. Next, enjoy lunch at Lamour Cafe & Restaurant before exploring Chiang Mai Old Town, which dates back to the 13th century and was once the capital of the Lanna Kingdom. The town offers a fascinating blend of architectural styles and cultural influences. Visit Waroros Market or Kad Laung, where you can find local foods such as fermented pork sausages and green chili paste, and also explore Ton Lam Yai Market, Chiang Mai's vibrant flower market. Day 14: Mae Sa Elephant Sanctuary/ Wat Suan Dok/ Wat Phra Sing

Visit the Mae Sa Elephant Sanctuary, formerly known as the Thai Elephant Care Center and renamed The Chang Chiang Mai in November 2019. The sanctuary is home to 14 elephants, learn about elephant conservation. Afterward, enjoy lunch at the Orchid Farm, located in the Mae Rim district, which is home to a cluster of four famous orchid and butterfly farms. In the afternoon, visit Wat Suan Dok, also known as the Flower Garden Temple, famous for its small white chedis that house the ashes of many members of the Chiang Mai Royal Family. Founded in 1371, the temple has a rich history linked to the legendary monk Sumana Thera, who brought a holy relic to Chiang Mai. Next, explore Wat Phra Sing, home to Phra Phuttha Sihing, a Chiang Sean-style Buddha statue, enshrined in the beautifully crafted Vihan Lai Kham temple. During the Songkran festival in April, the statue is paraded around the town, where locals bath it with scented water for good luck. Afterward, enjoy dinner on your own, and then stay overnight at your Chiang Mai hotel.
