VIEW THE JOURNEY
London to Leith (Edinburgh), United Kingdom
Culture, history and scenic beauty fill every frame of this Northern Europe adventure as you depart the River Thames bound for Belgian canals, Norwegian fjords, and Edinburgh’s iconic castle. Look up as we pass beneath the glass observation floor of the Tower Bridge to see the envious glances of tourists above, and cross the English Channel to  Belgium, a cultural amalgam with not one but three official languages: Dutch, French, and German. Feast your eyes on Flemish and Renaissance architecture lining the streets of Antwerp and reflecting off the canals of Bruges, and treat your palate to mouthwatering chocolate and beer. Enchanting Norway is next with magical cities like Alesund, with its charming Art Nouveau architecture, and Trondheim, with its Bakklandet district filled with colorful old wooden houses. Soak up eye-popping fjord and mountain scenery as you visit Romsdalfjord in Andalsnes, Nordfjord near Olden, and Trondheim Fjord.  Embark on outdoor adventures from glacier explorations, kayaking, and scenic train rides as you explore all Norway has to offer.

London, one of the world's top destinations, is a city begging to be explored. Steeped in history, the well-known sites of Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and Trafalgar Square beckon, or get a modern perspective from the top of the London Eye. This cosmopolitan city offers all the world cuisines you’re used to, but there are still places to find traditional British fare like bangers and mash or shepherds’ pie.

Day 7: Alesund
At the entrance to spectacular Geirangerfjord, Alesund has been voted the most beautiful town in Norway, and not only because of its location. The town burned to the ground in 1904 and was rebuilt in Art Nouveau style, with a few added elements from Nordic mythology – a longboat here, an image of Thor there.
