A 30-minute drive from the port will bring you to lovely Bruges where your guided walk will start. Before enjoying the beautiful city of Bruges you’ll have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the taste of a real Belgian waffle at a local waffle house. Tour through the typical Flemish countryside with a scenic drive to the quaint village of Damme. This Flemish village is steeped in traditional Flemish character. Damme is also known as a book town, with numerous bookshops and regular book fairs. Afterwards, you will drive through the outskirts of the historical city of Bruges for a view of the windmills and the impressive medieval city walls. You will travel south of Bruges, where you will have the chance to visit the impressive Castle of Loppem. This castle has a particular and homogeneous style, in this sense that the architecture and the interior were kept in their original state. It was in 1856 that the future castellans, Baron Charles van Caloen and his wife, Countess Savina de Gourcy Serainchamps, appointed the English architect Edward Welby Pugin (whose father, August Welby Northmore Pugin, participated in the building of the Westminster Houses of Parliament) with the task of designing the plans. Loppem Castle later came to play a prominent role in the political history of Belgium at the end of World War I.

The Château de Versailles, which has been on UNESCO’s World Heritage List for 30 years, is one of the most beautiful achievements of 18th century French art. The site began as Louis XIII’s hunting lodge before his son Louis XIV transformed and expanded it, moving the court and government of France to Versailles in 1682. Each of the three French kings who lived there until the French Revolution added improvements to make it more beautiful. Versailles is known as the largest and most sumptuous palace ever built. The chateau was embellished with new apartments during the 18th century, under the reigns of Louis XV and Louis XVI. The Royal family and the court were forced to leave Versailles on October 6th 1789, after the first days of the French Revolution. You will discover the castle with your guide. Exclusively with the guide, you will "touch History" as your guide tells you the story of one of the beautifully binded, gold plated books of King Louis XV Versailles' library, while presenting this 297-year-old book to you. This impressive stronghold was built by Richard the Lionheart, king of England and duke of Normandy, during the 12th century. Erected between 1196 and 1198 on a hill commanding the River Seine at the Andelys meander, Chateau Gaillard was the key building of the vast defence system closing the access to Normandy. Take a 75-minute drive from the pier to Giverny. Monet’s house and gardens at Giverny, on the right bank of the Seine, were a source of pleasure and inspiration to the artist who lived here for 43 years from 1883 to his death in 1926. See the famous lily pond that inspired this leading French impressionist to exhibit 10 different paintings of the same subject in 1900, each painted in a different light. Your visit will start with an unguided tour of Monet’s pink-and-green painted house, where reproductions of his famous works are displayed, together with his own collection of Japanese prints and fine china. See the dining room, bedroom and ‘blue’ reading room before venturing into the garden for a guided visit. Replanted according to Monet’s design, the central alley is covered with roses, and the colorful and unusual plants are indicative of Monet’s passion for botany. A tunnel will take you from the main gardens to the Water Garden with its Japanese Bridge, bamboo trees, rhododendrons and weeping willow. Monet created this section of the garden after he bought an additional plot of land in 1893.

Take a 60-minute drive from the pier to Jumièges. From the 5th century until today, the abbeys and churches of Normandy have played a significant role in history—not only spiritually, intellectually and artistically, but also politically and economically. At the height of their glory, there were 120 abbeys in the region. About half of these have survived the centuries and nowadays they represent a priceless architectural heritage. You will reach the Abbey of Jumieges, founded in 654 by Philibert. The history of this important Benedictine monastery has been punctuated by great crises and also by sumptuous rebirths. To this day, the Romanesque church continues to bear witness to its greatness. The abbey was destroyed after the French Revolution, when the monks were forced to abandon it, and now certainly a ruin, it retains a wonderful silhouette. Then enjoy a scenic drive to the village of Saint Martin de Boscherville, where you first visit the beautiful Romanesque Abbey of Saint Georges de Boscherville to see its sculpted columns and its beautiful garden.

You will then make a stop right next to the renowned hippodrome, for a guided visit of the “Villa Strassburger,” one of the symbols of the Belle Epoque era of Deauville. Built in 1907 for a Baron on the lands of Gustave Flaubert’s family and later bought by a rich American press editor, this unique architectural heritage will give you a sense of the majestic villas you can find in the area. Drive from Lorient to the megalithic area of Carnac. All over Brittany, a host of ancient and mysterious standing stones have stood the test of time, despite thousands of years of natural or artificial wear and tear. But the sheer size and extent of the Carnac stones are unparalleled elsewhere. Spectacular large groups of standing stones can also be found in the neighboring towns of Erdeven, Saint Pierre Quiberon and La Trinité sur Mer. To what end? This is still today a mystery, even though some theories can be proposed. You will discover the Kerzerho alignments in Erdeven, where the oldest reports describe lines stretching almost a mile. At the end of the 19th century, the two ends were the only easily identifiable elements. You'll take a panoramic drive along the famous alignments of Carnac. Discover the alignments of menhirs, namely Le Menec, Kermario and Kerlescan, offering you the unique sight of nearly 3,000 standing stones erected by men 5,000 years ago. Leave the pier for the 15-minute drive toward Keroman complex. Lorient is the 4th largest city in Brittany and lies on an immense natural harbor protected from the ocean by the Île de Groix. It was founded in the mid-17th century for trading operations by the Compagnie des Indes. During WWII, after the defeat of the French army, the Germans built mighty U-boat pens there, one of five major centers from which Admiral Dönitz (the last Führer) masterminded the Battle of the Atlantic. Subsequently the facilities were expanded for use by French nuclear submarines. Visit the Keroman complex with a specialist. You will then reach the Kernevel port in the close-by town of Larmor-Plage. Three villas were requisitioned by the German army, one of them was the residence of Admiral Dönitz (the last Führer) from where he could supervise the U-Boat base right in front in Lorient. Depart the pier for a short 30-minute panoramic tour of the city to arrive at the art center. Enjoy your time at “Les Bassins de Lumières” in Bordeaux, a new digital art center located in what used to be one of France's biggest bunkers during WWII, used by Germans to house U-boats. The monumental space, which stretches over 14,500 square meters (about 156,000 square feet), will be dedicated to the great Master of Art History, as well as contemporary art. The digital exhibitions will be perfectly adapted to the monumental architecture of the submarine base and will be reflected in the water of the four enormous basins. The current program displays works of famous Spanish artists Dali and Gaudi.

The Medoc Wine Road, located between the Gironde estuary and the Landes forest, will provide magnificent views of vine-covered gravelly rises as far as the eye can see. You will have the opportunity to take photos of some of the most famous Châteaux of the area such as Margaux, and Pichon Longueville.
