This tour will take you to catch the essence of Asturia through its traditional beverage: apple cider. Cider is a central part of the regional history and folklore – its enjoyment has been part of the Asturian culture for many centuries. Some authors assure that the cider was already well-known by the Hebrews and Egyptians, although this fact cannot be proven.  You will be driven to a cider factory, where you will discover the complete process  of cider making. You will visit an apple orchard and at the end of the tour, you will realize that Asturian cider is unique, due to its delicious flavor and the way it is served.  During this excursion you will also enjoy a "espicha." "Espicha" is the name of the informal lunch that the people of the rural area used to have at traditional cider factories. Those people, in that place, surrounded by barrels and standing, they used to taste traditional products and drink cider, while they were chatting with each other. It was the way neighbors of a town got together before collaborating in the different tasks of the cider making process. You will have an "espicha lunch" before returning to your ship.

You will be driven from the port of Gijón to Oviedo, the capital of Principality of Asturias and the most important city of the region. During the sightseeing by bus, you will enjoy the beautiful panorama of the main streets of one of the cleanest cities in Spain, some of its best cared-for gardens, and several relevant buildings such as  Campoamor Theater, venue of the Princess of Asturias award ceremony. You will start a walking tour along the pedestrian streets of the old quarter of the town founded in the 8th  century and will discover the beauty of the former capital of the Asturian Kingdom, its charming streets decorated with numerous sculptures, its lovely squares surrounded by traditional houses and Baroque style palaces and its major attraction, the Gothic Cathedral of San Salvador. You  will visit this cathedral  built in the 9th century and see the Holy Chamber that  houses priceless jewels and the relics of the San Salvador¨s Cathedral. After the cathedral your tour will continue through interesting squares and ancient streets  until getting into Constitución Square. In this part of the town, you will have some free time for shopping and strolling around on your own before being taken back to the port.

On this guided tour you will take a panoramic drive through Gijón, the oldest and the most populated town of Asturias. Along this panoramic tour several stops will be made. The first stop will be at  the former Labour University of Gijón, in order to visit this amazing architectural complex that although is inspired by "Herreriano" style (style of the Spanish Reinassance ), was built in the mid of the 20th  century. This construction,the most important architectonic work made in Asturias in the past century, is one of the most important cultural structures of this region. After having visited this place, you will be driven to a traditional "llagar" (cider mill) where you will be shown how natural cider is created.  There have been plenty of documents written throughout history that tell about  "pomares" (apple tree orchards) and about cider production and consumption in Asturias. You will have the opportunity of  tasting this beverage, the traditional drink of this region, accompanied by some Asturian cheese. Once the visit at the "llagar" is finished, the panoramic tour will continue showing you the major attractions of the city. Following the road by San Lorenzo Beach you will get to the marina of Gijón. This place is the ideal one to start with a walking tour along the old town. You will see the main square of Gijón, the  Revillagigedo Palace and the parish church of San Pedro. In Cimadevilla, the former fishermen quarter, you will enjoy some free time for shopping before returning to the port.

Here is a delightful tour along the West Asturian coast. The villages you will visit are marked by the inescapable essence of the sea. These small towns have built their livelihood around fishing, sailing, lighthouses and tales told by sailors.  The first stop will be at Luarca. From the Focicón headland, where an old lighthouse is located, you will enjoy the beauty of the most abrupt and rugged cliffs of this region and see other sites such as: the Chapel that houses the highly revered image of Jesus Nazareno, and the image of the White Lady, a Gothic sculpture from the 16th century. See also the cemetery of Luarca, one of the most beautiful cemeteries in Spain and the Table of the Mareantes. Luarca is a charming fishing village, dedicated to whaling in the past, and full of legends. Here important oceanic research has been developed, because some of the largest cephalopods in the world have been found here. The next stop will be at Cudillero, one of the most picturesque villages of Asturias, due to the layout of its streets and the bright colors of their houses. Cudillero has a large fishing fleet and several restaurants where you can taste the best fish and seafood of Asturias before returning to the port of El Musel.
