Spend the day visiting Portland and Kennebunkport. See the highlights of Portland while exploring its old port district, visit Maine's oldest lighthouse, and Kennebunkport. Visit the old port, the former warehouse district where brick buildings now house retail shops, galleries and restaurants. Admire varied architecture, with Victorian neighborhoods contrasted against Portland's new Arts District. You will then visit Fort Williams Park located on the rocky coast in beautiful Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Fort Williams was a military outpost for coastal defense serving the United States from the Spanish-American War to the Korean War. Fort Williams is also the home of Portland Head Light, commissioned by George Washington in 1791, the oldest lighthouse in Maine and one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country. Lastly, you will visit the charming coastal village of Kennebunkport to view stunning Federal and Victorian-style homes built by wealthy sea captains and merchants in the 1700s and 1800s. Pass by two of Maine's most famous homes - the Wedding Cake House and Walker's Point, the Bush estate and former Summer White House where world leaders often visited. You will have a chance to stretch your legs in the center of town at Dock Square, where art galleries, antique shops, and upscale stores make a charming town center. Please note: You will have free time in Kenneunkport for lunch on your own.

You'll pass stunning Federal and Victorian style mansions during your drive to Kennebunkport's Dock Square where you'll board your boat to experience panoramic views of Walker's Point and Maine's rocky coast. Afterwards, enjoy one hour exploring shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs in Dock Square. See the Bush Estate and former Summer White House on the return route. Please note: Dependent on the tide, the slope may vary to board the boat. This tour may operate in reverse order depending on local conditions.

This tour carves a path through the working waterfront and the charming Old Port, introducing you to some of the artisans, bakers and purveyors in town along the way. A hundred years ago this area was home to fish houses, canneries, factories and textile mills. Today, the air is fragrant with the fresh ocean breeze and the aromas from coffee houses and bakeries all tempting you as you walk by. Your friendly and engaging guide will take you to several Old Port and waterfront venues to enjoy many Maine-inspired foods then escort you back to the ship. Please note : This is a preset tasting menu and no special dietary concerns are able to be accommodated. A sample tasting menu may include mini lobster rolls, a cup of chowder, fresh baked blueberry muffins, and ice cream or chocolate needhams (menu is subject to change). Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress in warm layers. Guests who wish to stay in town to shop or explore independently after the tour are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship.

Here's your chance to see Portland's spectacular scenery while learning about its illustrious history in an active and unique way. This three-hour tour will have you cycling and hiking your way around some of the city's most notable landmarks. First, hop on your bicycle and head out on a one-hour bike ride along Portland's Eastern Promenade Trail. As you travel along the Atlantic oceanfront and across an old rail corridor, you'll enjoy fabulous views of Casco Bay, glimpse Fort Gorges, a former military outpost built in the 1860s, and see Bug Light, the smallest coastal lighthouse in the U.S. As you make your way to Mackworth Island, you'll leave your bicycles and trek on foot for one mile around the popular recreation area alongside an informative guide. Circle the island to discover a protected bird sanctuary, a cemetery where Governor Baxter buried his dogs, and panoramic views of the Portland skyline. Here you'll take in the views before pedaling your way back to your ship. Please note : Dress in athletic style clothing, comfortable walking shoes and warm layers. A bicycle and helmet will be provided on this excursion.

The spectacular rocky coastline nearby Portland Maine is studded with lighthouses dating back over 200 years. On this half day excursion, you will see three prominent lighthouses and visit the Museum of Portland Head Light . Your journey will begin as you drive through historic Portland, passing by the Eastern Promenade offering a panoramic view of Casco Bay, the Portland Observatory, the new Arts District, as well as the thriving commercial and business districts. Your first stop will be at " Bug Light ," a steel structure lined with brick that was first lit in 1875 as an aid to navigation for this busy port. In addition, you will enjoy the Liberty Ship Memorial dedicated to the 266 ships built on the site during WWII. Your next stop will be at Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse , a typical "sparkplug" style lighthouse constructed of brick on a cylindrical cast iron caisson. Your excursion will continue as you travel along Cape Elizabeth's rocky coast to Fort Williams, once a military outpost for coastal defense and now home to Maine's oldest lighthouse, Portland Head Light. Here, you will have ample time to explore the grounds and visit the impressive museum located in the former lighthouse keeper's quarters. Please note : This tour is a coach tour with some walking involved during scheduled stops (however it is possible for guests to remain on the coach at this stop). Walking during the free time is at your own discretion.

Embark on an on-foot journey through Portland's distinctive neighborhoods and past its notable landmarks while traveling alongside a friendly and knowledgeable guide. This home's significance extends beyond the fact that it was the childhood home of the infamous American poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, but also on a local level, as it was the only single family home to survive the urbanization of the area to the business district. You'll stroll by City Hall, along the shopping hub of Commercial Street, and past the oldest church in town. In the Downtown Arts District, learn about Portland's creative scene as well as its culinary and beer heritage while making your way around local theaters, arts schools, galleries and world-class museums. Then head back to your ship having experienced a street-level glimpse into Portland's most spectacular wonders. Please Note: The tour sequence may vary. Enjoy a short walk from the pier to embark on an authentic wooden schooner for a leisurely private sail around Portland's Casco Bay. This once-in-a-lifetime experience begins when you board the "Bagheera" for a two-hour adventure. This legendary tall ship is a 55-ft schooner with an experienced crew who will share their knowledge of the sea and sailing ("Bagheera" was launched in 1924 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places). Sit back, relax and take in the sights of Casco's waters, listen to the barking of the harbor seals and watch for an occasional eagle. If you prefer, you can join the crew and help hoist the sails and take a turn at the ship's helm. Please note: The actual schooner used may vary based on day and time of the cruise.
